Jean Bouchard
Description
Jean Bouchard is a Burgundian Wine House with a long history and tradition. The house was founded in 1831. Today the company owns five wineries and vineyards with a total area of 105 hectares stretching all over Burgundy. Each of the wineries represents a special pride of the Maison. One winery in Chablis (65 hectares of vineyards), two wineries in Nuits-Saint-Georges (16 hectares), one winery in Pommard (17 hectares) and one winery in Meursault with a tiny vineyard of seven hectares. The company's oenologists, Alain, Christophe and Grégoire, do everything possible and impossible to preserve and convey the unique terroir of the famous Burgundy appellations.
Each of the 4 terroirs is served by a separate team of specialists. The House of Bouchard is committed to a philosophy of minimal intervention in the wine making process and adheres to the principles of careful farming. Hand-picked grapes, gravity gravity-flow musts, pneumatic or hand presses, and alcoholic fermentation with wild yeast are used. The wines of the Maison Bouchard are marketed on four continents.
